Frequently asked questions
Is this a boutique shop?
Yes. By design. You work with your account engineer directly, no account manager, no tier-one queue, no handoffs. The client list stays small on purpose so the attention stays high.
What does pricing look like?
One rate. Written estimate before any work starts. Managed 365 is billed monthly by actual hours worked. Projects come with a scoped proposal first — you see the numbers before you commit to anything.
Do you only work with healthcare clients?
No. Healthcare is our deepest specialty, especially HIPAA-aware Microsoft 365. The same operational model (hourly billing, direct engineer access, written scope) applies to small businesses in professional services, design, and back-office operations. If you're under 30 seats and want managed IT done well, talk to us.
Do you do on-site?
We're based in Manhattan, IL, and happy to come on-site for onboarding, annual reviews, or anything that genuinely needs hands on a box. Day-to-day is remote.
Can you handle HIPAA at your size?
For practices in the 3 to 30 seat range, yes, fully. 3 Bytes Tech isn't built to be a hospital's entire compliance program. It's the technical and administrative safeguards side of a small practice's program, done to the standard an OCR auditor would recognize. Retention and access policy work for non-healthcare clients is also in scope.
What if we grow past what you can support?
You'll hear it from us first. Part of the deal: when a client outgrows this size of shop, we help find and hand off cleanly to a bigger team. Everything stays documented, not stuck in someone's head.
Do you support Google Workspace or Apple devices?
Yes to both. Microsoft 365 is the primary specialty, but Google Workspace is well-supported, including admin, security, and DNS work (3 Bytes Tech itself runs on Workspace). Apple endpoints are managed through Intune alongside Windows, or through Jamf for Mac-heavy environments.
