It depends on the tool and how it is set up. Free public chatbots are not the place for client data. Copilot Chat, used with a work account, runs under your Microsoft 365 data protection terms. For practices under HIPAA, Microsoft states that Copilot Chat supports its BAA and HIPAA compliance for prompts and responses in properly configured setups, and that web search queries are not covered. We handle that configuration and write down the rules. Compliance still depends on how your team uses it.
Not to start. Copilot Chat comes with Microsoft 365 for work accounts. Paid Copilot licenses add access to your own files and email, and they are worth it for some roles and not for others. We will tell you which. If you want licenses, Copilot licensing is available through us.
